Government College of Engineering Salem, located on a 162 hectares site surrounded by hills. GCE, Salem was then the Third Engineering Institution in Tamil Nadu. The first batch of students was selected for the academic year 1966-1967. The institution offers  6 UG and 5 PG programs.
